Doctor Jimmy Holtschlag, Veterinarian
Dr. Jimmy grew up in Quincy, Illinois, where his lifelong love of animals began. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science while playing collegiate football at Western Illinois University, then went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 2019.
During veterinary school, Dr. Jimmy met his wife, Morgan, who convinced him to make the move to California. He practiced veterinary medicine in Monterey County for six years, where he encountered a wide range of medical and surgical challenges. These experiences helped accelerate his clinical growth and strengthened his ability to provide thoughtful, well-rounded care in both routine and complex cases.
Dr. Jimmy has a strong interest in preventive care, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and helping pets maintain a high quality of life through every stage of life. He is passionate about building trusting relationships with clients and believes that clear communication and compassion are essential to providing the best possible care for patients.
Now relocating to Contra Costa County to be closer to family, Dr. Jimmy is excited to become part of a new community and to form lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors with Morgan, along with their dogs, Felix and Walter, and their cats, Flea, Farley, and Sid.
Doctor Bikram Sohi, Veterinarian
Dr. Bikram Sohi brings over 2 decades of experience caring for small animals and their families since 2002. He began his veterinary journey in India, where he practiced for 12 years, followed by one year in Australia and three years in Indiana. In 2019, moved to the Bay Area and established Daly City Pet Hospital in Daly City, California, with a clear vision: to provide advanced, compassionate care grounded in trust and lasting relationships.
Dr. Sohi’s career has been guided by a simple belief: pets deserve the same thoughtful, attentive care as any family member. He is passionate about educating pet parents and partnering with them to make thoughtful, informed decisions for their beloved companions.
His professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and advanced imaging, including ultrasonography and echocardiography. Committed to lifelong learning, he actively pursues advanced training, ensuring his patients receive care that reflects both seasoned expertise and the latest medical advancements.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sohi enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, and reading literature. He has written three books of poetry in his native language Punjabi, and several of the songs he has penned have been recorded and sung by professional artists.
He lives in Pacifica with his wife and son, and their two beloved companions — Simba, an adorable and handsome Golden Retriever, and a spirited leopard gecko, Rambo.
Dr. Hani Korani, DVM, DACVS-SA, Board-Certified Surgeon
Hani M. Korani, DVM, DACVS-SA
Dr. Hani M. Korani is a board-certified small animal surgeon (Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons – Small Animal) dedicated to providing advanced surgical care with a collaborative and compassionate approach.
Through his mobile practice, H&M VetSurg, Dr. Korani brings the expertise and capabilities of a specialty surgical center directly to your trusted family veterinary practice here in the Bay Area. His mission is simple: to make specialist-level surgery accessible, less stressful for patients, and more integrated for primary care veterinarians, ensuring a seamless circle of care for every animal.
The Journey to Surgical Specialization
Dr. Korani’s path to becoming a surgical specialist was driven by a passion for the intricate mechanics of the body and the profound impact that skilled surgery can have on an animal’s quality of life.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Cairo University, Egypt. Following graduation, he completed a demanding one-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Tuskegee University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, where he gained broad experience in all facets of veterinary care.
With a clear focus on surgery, Dr. Korani was then selected for a rigorous three-year surgical residency at the North Carolina State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (NCSU VTH). This intensive program provided him with advanced training in orthopedic, soft tissue, neurologic, and oncologic surgery under the mentorship of world-renowned specialists.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Korani successfully passed the rigorous examination to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS). This board certification represents the highest level of specialization in the field, a distinction held by only a small percentage of veterinarians. After working in large specialty hospitals, he founded H&M VetSurg to bring that same level of care to a more personal, collaborative setting.
H&M VetSurg – Mobile Surgical Excellence
H&M VetSurg serves as an extension of your clinical team. Dr. Korani utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and specialized surgical instruments to perform a wide array of advanced procedures, including:
Orthopedic Surgery: Fracture repair, TPLO/TTA for cranial cruciate ligament disease, joint procedures, and corrective osteotomies.
Soft Tissue Surgery: Complex oncological (cancer) surgery, advanced abdominal and thoracic procedures, and reconstructive surgery.
Neurological Surgery: Spinal procedures for intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).
By providing in-house specialty surgery, H&M VetSurg ensures that pets receive expert attention in the familiar, stress-reducing environment of their primary care hospital, optimizing both convenience and recovery.
